With the colder weather and snow we would like to remind everyone of the following tips when on school property.
- When entering/exiting your vehicle
- Use 3 points of contact (hold onto vehicle, seat or wheel with both hands)
- If your vehicle is higher off the ground (e.g. pick up truck), exit vehicle facing the cab so that you can maintain 3 points of contact to avoid slips on icy patches
- Take extra caution and walk slowly by taking shorter steps if there are icy or snowy conditions.
- Stay on cleared pathways and be mindful of surface conditions or trip hazards (e.g. pine cones, stones and change in walking surfaces), avoid taking shortcuts
- Do not carry objects that are too heavy or obstruct your view while walking.
