National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Every year on September 30th, Canadians commemorate the residential school experience, honor the healing journey of survivors and their families and commit to the ongoing process of listening, learning and reconciliation.

On Tuesday, September 30th we invite all students and staff to wear orange as a symbol of our commitment to truth and reconciliation. By wearing orange, we acknowledge the ongoing need for listening, learning, and supporting the healing process related to the intergenerational impacts of these experiences.  Our commitment to this important work is continuous. Let’s unite in our efforts to deepen our understanding and foster meaningful reconciliation. St. Elizabeth Seton will continue our ongoing commitment by learning about the experiences of the First Nations, Inuit and Metis Peoples and work for ways to protect the rights of all children.
