Cold Weather

With the onset of colder weather, it is important that our students are appropriately dressed for the weather. This means that students are coming to school in full length clothing and wearing jackets or coats, gloves, hats, mitts, scarves, etc. It is not advised that students wear crocs during the colder weather. These pose slipping hazards.  All students should wear footwear that has a backing to it.

Students are expected to be outside during recess as the fresh air and exercise does them good. When wet weather arrives, it is a good idea for students to have snow pants and an additional pair of pants and socks in their school bags. Only in severe weather and rain will children remain indoors. Each year many send notes stating that their children need to remain indoors for recess. Thank you in advance for your support. Information about this will be shared with our parent community once decided on in consultation with our CSC at our next meeting on November 20th.

Please keep the following in mind:

  • An ill child should rest at home and return to school when he/she is feeling better.
  • Outside recess breaks are essential for children.
