Halloween Safety

As Halloween is fast approaching, we would like to take an opportunity to remind you of the children at St. Elizabeth Seton who have LIFE THREATENING allergies to peanuts and nut products. Please DO NOT send any treats or candies of this nature for your child.  Following Halloween, please keep an extra eye out for Halloween treats that do not adhere to our allergy protocol. Our staff wishes to express our thanks for your vigilance and support as safety is our collective responsibility.

A few gentle reminders if your child is wearing a costume or Halloween colours:

  1. Masks are not permitted (except for PPE)
  2. Discourage costumes that are not appropriate to the moral tone of our Catholic school
  3. No inflatable costumes allowed. These may be tripping hazards for students, especially when using stariwells.
  4. Please ensure that costumes are an appropriate length for students so that they do not pose a tripping hazard
  5. Kindly note that accessories that resemble or can be used as a weapon are not permitted.
  6. We ask that students not come in costumes that may be scary to other students (such as gory costumes or ‘killer clowns’, for example) or may be considered culturally insensitive or in poor taste.
