This month we recognize and celebrate the histories, contributions, and achievements of Black communities in Canada and around the world. This month provides an important opportunity for schools to honour Black excellence, resilience, and leadership, while engaging students in meaningful learning about anti-Black racism, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
This year’s theme is 30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries. As part of our learning and commitment classes will learn about and celebrate the rich histories, lasting contributions, and remarkable achievements of Black communities. This is a time for us to come together to honor the profound resilience and diversity and to uplift the stories of strength and excellence that continue to inspire us all. School Mental Health Ontario continues to provide staff, students and families with important resources that focus on well being and mental health supports.
