Luke 4:18 Activities | 2024–2025 School Year

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms. Sottosanti and the entire Luke 4:18 student committee for their support of school initiatives that benefit the greater community. Below are some of the many ways they have worked to make our community thrive.
October – Food Drive in support of the Newmarket Food Pantry – over 1500 items collected
November – Giving Tree and Reflection – students organized paper ornaments with gift card requests
December – Clothing Drive and Ornament Raffle – donated 500+ items to Belinda’s Place women’s shelter
❖ Ornament raffle raised funds for St. Vincent de Paul – Ornaments donated by staff and sold raised $500.00
January – Faith Reflection Month
❖ Weekly Bible passages read and discussed, students shared good deeds that support our community
February – Black Heritage Month and Spread the Love Month Food Drive
❖ Students created educational posters to celebrate Black Canadian excellence
❖ raised 2000+ food items for the Newmarket Food Pantry
March – Equity and Inclusion Month
❖ students designed Jenga blocks to represent important part of their identity and culture
❖ school wide activity celebrating diversity and belonging
April – Gift of a Smile drive – collected 300+ toothbrushes and toothpaste for school symposium
