PALS – Welcome Back!

The PALS (Playground Activity Leaders in Schools) program is an elementary school initiative designed to encourage physical activity and foster a sense of belonging among students during recess. It involves older students being trained to lead and organize fun, safe, and inclusive playground games and activities for their younger peers. These students will be encouraging all students to find peers to engage with and will help facilitate safe play.  Students are encouraged to continue to seek the assistance of staff on duty if any issues arise.

The PALS play leader team each have a backpack with some supplies they will use to help facilitate play. This includes sidewalk chalk, skipping ropes, playground balls and small pylons. The leaders will help the students share these supplies, but do expect the supplies to be returned to the backpack. We thank Ms. Ferrie and the Grades 5 and 6 students leaders for your dedication to helping our younger students continue to build on their cooperative play skills.
