Black Heritage Month Display Case

Honouring the contributions of Canadians of African Ancestry is an essential part of any curriculum delivery. During Black Heritage Month in February, we particularly highlight the legacy of Canadians of African Ancestry, past and present. This is a time to celebrate the many achievements and contributions of people of African Ancestry to the development and culture of the Church and of Canada. We are invited to consider the vital role of Black Canadians in our history during this month and throughout the school year.

This year, in part, we would like to honour and celebrate the many contributions and beautiful cultures by displaying artifacts in our display case located in the front foyer of our school. We are asking for items/artifacts that families are able to lend to our school for the month of February. Please note that although the case will be locked we ask that you do not send any breakable items to school.  If you are able to send in items, we ask that you attach your child’s name and classroom teacher to the item so that it can be returned to you. You may also wish to add a brief description of the item or its history. This will be displayed alongside the artifact for students and staff to read. We thank you in advance for sharing an important part of your beautiful culture with the staff and students of Seton.
