Food Bank Drive

Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is during moments of crisis and despair that as a community of faith, we come together to show kindness, care and solidarity. During this period of school and work closures, more families than ever before are in need of the Food Bank’s services.

There have always been families in need of support in the York Region and unfortunately due to unprecedented times  the number of families requiring support are consistently increasing.

As a response to this critical situation, school communities across York Catholic District School Board are coming together to support our neighbours in need. Between the dates of May 19th and May 22nd, collection boxes will be placed at the front doors of our school and monitored by school cameras for safety purposes.

Families are encouraged to take a walk to the school and place a bag of food and/or personal hygiene items in the Food Bank Boxes. We ask that you only put non-perishable items which can not be tampered with by animals (see list below).

Please ensure that you maintain physical distancing at all times to ensure your personal well being.

Items Most Needed:

  • Canned Milk
  • Jams
  • Diapers (especially Size 6)
  • Any canned food items (Eg. Canned fruit, vegetables, beans, meats, etc)
  • Soap, shampoo, and other toiletries

We thank The Food Bank of York Region, which is a distribution hub for food banks in the whole region, for providing the bins, as well as the pickup and distribution of these critically needed items.
